Role Overview:

 

The Operational Risk Team is responsible for providing 2nd line oversight over the businesses in North America. This oversight allows for the identification and management of risks and controls by providing critical guidance and support to the business  and senior management in order for the business to manage their risks appropriately.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in the management and monitoring of all action plans and risk events.
  • Partner with 1LoD and 2LoD colleagues to further embed One RCSA into the business. Provide guidance on identifying and updating key risks and controls.
  • Determine and ensure appropriate risk and control testing for LBCM-NA’s businesses.
  • Assist Operation Risk Manager with the preparation of reports to senior management on information gathered and analyzed to make recommendations for improvements to the management and control of risk as appropriate.
  • Deliver reliable, timely and relevant MI and reports to Senior Management, including risk events, issues management, fraud incidents and losses, and KRIs, identifying key themes and trends.
  • Act as a consultant and a point of reference on more sophisticated technical and procedural issues to minimize risk and enhance partner relationships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with UK counterparts to stay abreast of changes impacting operational risk management.
  • Support project activities as needed.

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or related field.
  • 3+ years of Operational Risk experience in a U.S. regulated financial institution and/or Broker-Dealer.
  • Experience conducting risk and control assessments and using risk management systems.
  • Experience with administering a company's operational risk framework.
  • Experience with handling and investigating operational risk events
  • Experience in providing guidance and training to stakeholders on risk management policies, is a plus.

Key skills and knowledge required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of commercial banking and capital markets services and products including lending, trade finance business, debt capital markets and FX trading.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skill
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Salary Range: $95,000 – $120,000
