Role Overview:

 

An exciting opportunity for an experienced FX trader to help support the Global FX business from the New York hub, predominantly, though not exclusively across Singapore hours. The role provides a chance to support the Spot FX and FX Forward franchise helping to maintain our 24-hour a day/5.5 day presence in the Market whilst at the same time contributing to our revenue goals.

 

The ideal candidate will be a subject matter authority on all currency related matters, across all of G20, building positive relationships with other Business trading desks to ensure that FX trading activity is aligned with overall trading strategy.

Within LBCM NY, working with our Financial Markets team, FX and FXSTIR trading offers clients seamless access to pricing, execution and risk management services across time zones from our hubs in London and New York.

 

 

Responsibilities

    

 Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  •  A strong numerical background is required and an in depth understanding of Financial Markets
  • Understand, supervise and have responsibility for all market risk and funding of the positions carried by the FX business, covering both Spot FX and Forward FX
  • Handle all related risks in accordance with the Bank’s policies, procedures and reporting requirements as well as any relevant regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Offer consistent and competitive pricing, best execution and risk management in support of the CB Markets FX Strategy, according to standard methodologies and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure an appropriate control and conduct framework is established, supervised and adhered to
  • Validated trading experience and management potential with the ability to empower others towards achieving common goals
  • Able to communicate sophisticated issues and procedures verbally and / or by producing detailed reports, adapting the style and content according to the target audience
  • Support our client franchise by optimizing end-to-end deliverables of FX Products and Services in collaboration with business partners and support functions
  • Support the design and analysis of relevant internal MI and critical metrics, client analysis and external business intelligence
  • Review and analyse key external trends and influences ensuring a wide range of information is used to support the development of the business
  • Provide input to business strategies and direction taking into account commercial business requirements and related risks and controls.

Qualifications

 

Education and experience required: 

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of proven experience

 

Key skills and knowledge required:

  • Proven ability to manage and execute basic foreign exchange spot, forward and derivative products across various asset classes
  • Knowledge of FX options and other structured products
  • Strong knowledge of Bloomberg
  • Familiarity with STIR products
  • Familiarity with market standard technology
  • Ability to dynamically prioritise workflow and run multiple processes simultaneously
  • Ability to proactively handle tasks and issues
  • Organizational awareness
  • Strong work ethic, detail orientation and great teammate
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong skills in various Office products (Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Series 7, 63 & CISI Qualification 

 This role is subject to the terms of the Senior Managers, Senior Insurance Managers and Certification Regimes as required by UK financial industry regulators (FCA & PRA).

 

Salary Range: $255,000 - $340,000
